At David Drew, we will help to focus your precious time and effort on life choice improvements that will most affect your health and happiness.

For example, a person prone to cardiovascular disease can greatly advance the problem by exposing him/herself to frequent periods of high psychological stress. On the other hand, an individual at high risk for osteoporosis can achieve considerable protection through a well-designed exercise program.

At the David Drew Clinic, we recognize that lifestyle modification can be difficult and time-consuming. We believe strongly that success in improving health depends upon focused lifestyle adjustments. Based on our extensive efforts at disease prediction, you and your personal physician can develop an action plan that is tailored to your individual risks. We will help to focus your health improvement efforts in areas where they are likely to do the most good.

For example, if your health profile indicates that you have a low risk of cardiovascular disease but are at high risk for later life osteoporosis, your physician and your exercise training specialist will help to devise a program that emphasizes weight bearing over simple aerobic exercise.

Likewise, weight maintenance can be optimized. One of your imaging tests may be an MRI examination to assess your body fat distribution, a much better predictor of future heart disease and diabetes than body weight alone. If your results show a favorable pattern, then your program will include a reduced emphasis on weight.

The David Drew Clinic works with recognized area specialists in particular aspects of lifestyle optimization, including:
